These cards come out of a bigger question I keep chasing: how do cross-functional teams work together well enough to deliver a product experience that truly meets customer needs? Each card poses a single question designed to surface the assumptions we build in without noticing: the quiet biases that pull products away from the people they're meant to serve.
They're also meant to be enjoyable. I'm beta-testing a game around the deck, because the best cross-functional conversations tend to happen when there's a bit of fun in the room.
Six travelers meet an elephant in the dark.
One grips the trunk and swears it's a snake; another the leg and calls it a tree; another the ear, a fan. Each is honest. Each is certain. And each is only holding one part of the whole.
Cross-functional teams work the same way. Every function has a firm grip on its own piece of the product. These cards are how we compare notes, question what we think we're holding, and finally describe the same elephant together.
I'd genuinely enjoy the conversation: about product bias, diagnostics, or getting good science adopted. Reach out if you'd like to talk, or to see the cards up close.
