TL;DR
Welcome to my home on the internet. I am interested in STEM, PKM, music, food and coffee.
I'm actively seeking opportunities in product management or scientific affairs to help drive innovation within the life sciences.
As a scientist and lifelong learner, I seek to fuel innovation, improve accessibility, and reduce the burden of disease. More details can be found below in my professional bio.
As a lifelong learner, I am interested in many topics related to science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM). I am also interested in the best ways of storing and retrieving the knowledge I collect: i.e. personal knowledge management (PKM).Music has always been a profound source of inspiration and joy in my life. My tastes are eclectic; from rock to country, funk, jazz, and beyond, I find myself constantly drawn to the energy music delivers. Whether I'm attending a live concert or simply listening to my favorite albums at home, music has a way of lifting my spirits and transporting me to where I need to be.Similarly, food holds a special place in my heart. Italian cuisine is my go-to, with its simplistic ingredients that come together to make something greater than the sum of their parts. However, I'm also passionate about exploring cuisines from around the world, experimenting with new recipes, and sharing delicious meals with family and friends. Cooking also allows me to have a similar feeling to my time spent working in a lab. There are elements of precision, concentration, and danger at play, but unlike laboratory work, cooking can be melded together with creativity to deliver fantastic results!I talk more about my interests on my blog.
As a scientist and product leader, I bring hard-earned experience, in oncology diagnostics and precision medicine. I have played a pivotal role in the development, product realization, and launch of cutting-edge diagnostic instrumentation and assays—including liquid biopsy technologies to enable advanced cell separation, cell identification, and single-cell workflows. My expertise in cell biology and understanding of engineering concepts have allowed me to contribute and help bridge the gap between the two fields, allowing for better automation that leads to better science. In addition, I believe that having a focus on the needs of the customer is important to making great products that customers want to use. User insight and effective beta testing provide excellent opportunities to strengthen a commercial position and inject the voice of customer (VOC) into products.I spent 10 years working as a foundational member of the development team for Parsortix PR1/PC1, a diagnostic medical device, delivering from concept through to clinical validation (FDA clearance) and commercialization. I am proud to be part of the team that took a proof-of-principle device through the risk mitigation and regulatory hurdles required to achieve a De Novo FDA clearance. Over my 10 years at ANGLE, across several roles, I gained experience and participated in the transformation from a young startup company to one that was focused on product stability, risk management, and revenues. As a generalist with experience in assay development, product management, and customer support (including for scientific affairs), I excel at seeing the bigger picture. One of my key strengths lies in translating complex scientific concepts into actionable strategies that resonate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Maintaining a focus on the needs of the market and the customers is important, but equally important is framing those needs in a way that makes sense for internal stakeholders in the context of the business. Our ultimate goal should be engaged cross-functional collaboration that leads to the development of more integrated and user-centric products.Having spent time in the trenches of customer support, I know the importance of a robust user experience and proper product training. I have seen firsthand how developing and leading great customer training results in more customer engagement. The best customer resources help customers learn, help them realize their current limitations, and allow customers and KOLs to be inspired. Within translational medicine, well-trained and engaged users want to push the boundaries. Their investment in technology can lead to great returns. I am passionate about building best-in-class user experiences, and my work in customer success has taught me to always listen to the customer. Their requests, no matter how small, hint at the challenges they face. Removing those hurdles can spark delight, which is the key to a great customer experience. No matter the size of the challenge, I will be there to help navigate concerns related to product development, regulatory compliance, and customer engagement. My goal is to leverage my extensive experience to help others overcome the most significant barriers to success. As a scientist and lifelong learner, I seek to fuel innovation, improve accessibility, and reduce the burden of disease.
